How Should Bourdon Tube Pressure Gauge Be Read?

Today, CSHERUN will share how to read Bourdon Tube Pressure Gauge. Its reading method is mainly divided into the following steps:

Reading steps

1. First, the reader needs to look at the dial, and make sure that the line of sight and the pointer are at the same level to avoid errors caused by differences in viewing angles. ‌

2. Then we determine the range and graduation value of the Bourdon Tube Pressure Gauge. The reader needs to observe the nominal pressure range and the minimum scale value on the dial.

‌a. Read the integer part: directly align with the scale value indicated by the pointer (such as 10, 20, etc.).

‌b. Estimate the decimal part: estimate the pointer position based on the minimum graduation value (such as 0.1MPa). For example, if the pointer is at 2.5 scales, the estimated reading is 0.5MPa.

‌3. Finally, we calculate the final value: this requires adding the integer to the estimated value and indicating the unit (such as MPa).

Notes

If the Bourdon Tube Pressure Gauge is a vacuum gauge, people need to add a minus sign before reading to indicate negative pressure. ‌Generally, the range and graduation values of different pressure gauges may vary, so people need to explain the operation in combination with specific equipment.
